The National Forests and National Park near Harrisonburg VA offer a range of hiking experiences, from casual walking near streams, to strenuous exploration across mountains and off-trail. We can go for a half day or a full day, and destinations could be a fire tower, a waterfall, a swimming hole, a rock maze, or a mountain peak. These are not the colossal and dramatic natural features like Half Dome in Yosemite or the Grand Canyon. We look for delightful hidden places, quiet beauty, that rarely have a crowd or tourists. Instruction topics can include stream crossing, map and compass navigation, orienteering skills, or fire-building.
(Full Day: $175 1-3 people; then $35 each additional person.
Half Day: $125 1-3 people; then $25 each additional person.)
